Message from your 2022 Omaha Sports Club President
Your OSC executive board had its first meeting of 2022. It was held at Tanners bar and grill located near 119th and Pacific.
It looks to be an exciting year for our club. We have many social activities planned for our members and our sports are gearing up for their activities. All leagues must be pre-paid, and you must be a OSC member to go to the store to sign up for our activities.
Darts is forming currently; we hope to have a 501 league on Sundays and a Cricket league on Mondays. There are still spots available so, go to the OSC store and sign up. If you have any questions, please contact Dave Billig.
Volleyball is forming and you must use the OSC store to sign up. They will no longer be accepting sign ups at the door. Thanks to Rob Smith for his continued support. He is presently the Volleyball chairman.
Pool is starting January 13th. If you are interested in playing, contact Glen Mears for information on availability.
Softball is ready to get out on the fields, we just need the weather to warm up. Keep an eye out for the sign-up notification and get your gloves ready to play. Thank you, Mike Menke, for arranging the teams.
Our Bowling team is sharing the duties and enjoying the sport. Thanks to Barb Fulbright and her efforts.
We have had a new and exciting change to OSC Golf. We all appreciate Barb Fulbright for running our golf leagues and wish to thank her so very much. She has decided to pass the driver on to Gene Hug. Gene is a past Golf chairman, and we are so happy to have him back.
Speaking of Gene Hug, he is having his first Happy hour gathering of the year this Friday at the Cabin located at 9226 Mormon Bridge road. It will start at 4:30PM. Hope you can make it and enjoy other OSC members. This is open to anyone, so bring your friends.
It's a new year and we need you to renew your membership, so you won't miss out on our adult activities and please tell your family and friends about your awesome club. The more the merrier as they say so let's have some fun.
Our next OSC Annual affair/Holiday brunch will be December 4th. It's a guarantee that the Field Club will treat us with all the bells and whistles. Make sure you mark it on your calendar.
On March 5th at Thunderhead Brewing 13304 W center Rd we are having a Spaghetti dinner and Bags/Cornhole tournament. We will have the spaghetti and some of our OSC board members will be supplying the sauce, salad, and bread. If you would like to donate your special family sauce for the spaghetti, please contact Joe Martinez. The cost for the dinner will be $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. The tournament is still being planned at this time, stayed tuned for information.
As always you can contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestion. We are always looking for members that would like to get involved. Contact me at jdmomaha38@msn.com
Wishing you all a Wonderful New Year,
Joe Martinez
